Documentation

The research projects "University Collections in Germany: Studies on Holdings and History" and "Material Models in Research and Teaching" were supported by the DFG from 2004 to 2012. The projects were based at Hermann von Helmholtz-Zentrum für Kulturtechnik at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and were headed by Dr Cornelia Weber.

The research project "University Collections in Germany" had three goals:

  1. to record as many university collections in Germany as possible, taking into account collections that no longer exist;
  2. the collection of relevant data on holdings and history, and
  3. the presentation of the results on the Internet.

The research project "Material Models" pursued the goal of recording and examining three-dimensional material models in research and teaching and making them accessible to research in a decentralised, usable, multimedia online object database.
