The museum and collection type refers to the general type of a collection. The classification is based on the UNESCO classification for museums and has been modified for university collections. A more fine grained classification is accessible at subjects (thesaurus).

Special Status

Collections with "special status" are dissolved, not at the original university anymore, of unknown whereabouts, or destroyed. They are marked with a star ("*").
